BRIEF: Waterborne death; Eleanor Hall SUMMARY: Word from more than one amusement park worker directly familiar with the 6 Jul 2005 death of a woman on the "Shark Attack" water ride said, "She just tipped over and fell into the water. Lights out. They said she got banged along pretty good in the rapids before they could stop the ride. Some guys jumped in pulled her up from the bottom and over, face up, but she was already gone."
Also, let's not forget the haunting for which Six Flags American is most famous for: Eleanor Hall, a young resident of an old plantation on the land under a cracked grave, the oldest known grave in Prince Georges county. BRIEF: Three robed ghosts SUMMARY: An apparition of three men crossing the road dressed in robes has been seen in this area. The first ghostly appartion carries a torch. The other two have their arms in their robes. They do not appear to resemble, however, KKK members. Approaches are met with a swift vanishing. BRIEF: Old National Guard Armory in Frederick, MD haunted by spirits of the past SUMMARY: The Old Frederick Armory was designed by John B. Hamme and built in 1913 to house a unit of the Maryland National Guard. The unit, Company A, 1st Battalion, 115th Infantry can trace its history to the birth of the Nation as part of the rifleman organized by Michael Cresap to fight in the revoltionary war in June of 1775. The armory is now utilized by the City of Frederick as a community center. The National Guard moved to a new facility off I-70 around 1980. Numerous individuals have experienced cold spots, doors opening and closing, lights that mysteriously turn on and off, etc. in the armory. BRIEF: Beautiful southern Plantation - Haunted SUMMARY: The plantation dates to sometime in the late 1700s to early 1800s. In 1836, the plantation was sold to Jacques Telespore Roman and was called "Oak Alley" by riverboat captains. Jacques' brother Andre Roman served as Governor of Louisiana. Jacques and his wife Celina had a grand mansion designed and built, to include 28 classic colums surrounding the house, 12 foot ceilings and 16 inch thick walls. The final construction was completed sometime around 1841.
The plantation and mansion are known to be haunted possibly by Roman family members.
