BRIEF: Haunted before and more after Underground Railroad activities SUMMARY: Castle Angelo is located on top of its highest nearby hill. Built in 1831, the Castle was named "Michelangelos" but then its name was shortened to Angelo.
Many people have owned the house over the years. The Reverend Moore lived in the house; strange experiences began after he moved in. The sounds of footsteps and thumping were heard in the house. BRIEF: No trace remains SUMMARY: In the 19th and early 20th centuries, the stretch of F Street from the Department of Treasury (just east of the White House) to 6th Street, NW, was a fashionable district of Washington. A few of the early medical establishments were also located here. Georgetown University Medical Department occupied a building next to the corner of F and 12th Streets from 1851 to 1868.
The Medical Hall, the first headquarters of the Medical Society of the District of Columbia, was built in 1868 near the corner of F and 10th Streets. Dr. Robert King Stone (1822-1872), a prominent Washington physician, lived and maintained his office in a large house at the corner of F and 14th Streets. He was President Abraham Lincoln's doctor. BRIEF: Ms. Dolly Ether Fitzgerald and Mr. Frederick Walker shared similar fate SUMMARY: I am 57 years old. When I lived in Beltsville, I was told about Mr. Frederick Walker, who was killed at the crossing by his house. His car bumper was too far onto the tracks, and the train mashed him and the car into a pole. Prior to this accident, a Ms. Fitzgerald had been struck by a train at the same crossing when her shoe got caught in the wood part. She also lived in the Walker house before they bought it. BRIEF: Apparition of a former owner, barstools knocked off of tables SUMMARY: The ghost of the original owner of Columbia's Last Chance Saloon in Oakland Mills apparently still has an interest in the business.
