It first occupied a building at the corner of 12th and F Streets, NW, and moved in 1869 to the building at the corner of 10th and E Streets, which had been home to the Medical Department of Columbia College (now George Washington University Medical School). BRIEF: Lights, sounds, actions! SUMMARY: The house was built in 1805 near Point Lookout State Park. The house sit directly across the street from the Confederate Prisoners Monument that marks the mass burial place of several thousand Confederate soldiers. Guests and employees of this bed-and-breakfast have seen ghostly apparitions in the house and walking on the property. Employees hear strange noises in the house that they cannot figure out. The owners have had problems with things disappearing and reappearing. Lights turn on by themselves in the master bedroom in the middle of the night.
