SUMMARY: This house was built in 1755. This is the oldest house in Princess Anne. The house is located at 11790 Church Street. The house is know to be haunted. People have reported seeing ghostly apparitions looking out of the windows. BRIEF: Local cemetery open since 1847 SUMMARY: Located on the banks of the James river, this cemetery is home to many famous local spooks, and is reportedly the burial site of Virginia’s only know vampire. The cemetery is home to many civil war era soldiers, including the nearly 18,000 buried near the infamous “Pyramid”. Presidents John Tyler and James Monroe, and Confederate General JEB Stuart are among the cemeteries more famous guests. Locals and visitors alike report a feeling of uneasiness when visiting the cemetery, and there is lack of lore about strange sightings and noises in and around the grounds. When viewed from on of the many vantage points along the James, Hollywood sits elegantly, if not a little foreboding, on a steep river bank. The Pyramid can be seen from far outside the cemetery, and has been known to give observers a shiver on site alone. BRIEF: Brutal killings leave much behind. SUMMARY: The Cosden family was murdered in their home by a burglar in 1851. The entire family was killed. BRIEF: Apparitions of a murdered family lreturn SUMMARY: The Morris Family, murdered together in their home on 28 Sep 1879, is buried here under the only stone pillar beneath an evergreen tree in the center of the graveyard.
